Bitcoin Confirmed but Your Exchange Deposit Is Missing? Check These Stages

A Bitcoin transaction can be confirmed on-chain while the receiving exchange still shows a pending deposit. That does not automatically mean either the blockchain or the exchange has lost the payment. The two systems track different stages.

Broadcast is not confirmation, and confirmation is not account credit

The sender first broadcasts a transaction. A miner then includes it in a block. The receiving exchange checks the payment against its deposit rules and credits the account when those rules are satisfied. Some platforms wait for several confirmations or perform additional internal checks.

Write down which stage has completed. Saying “the payment was sent” can refer to a withdrawal request, a broadcast transaction, or an already confirmed payment.

Check the details against the deposit instructions

  • Network: did you send on-chain Bitcoin to a deposit method that accepts that network?
  • Address: does the transaction output match the address the exchange provided?
  • Amount: did the deposit meet any platform minimum after applicable fees?
  • Confirmations: has the stated confirmation threshold been reached?
  • Platform status: are deposits for that asset currently delayed or paused?

Use the receiving platform’s current instructions rather than assuming two similarly named assets or networks are interchangeable. A different network requires a different investigation.

Choose the right place to ask for help

If there is no on-chain TXID, ask the sending platform whether the withdrawal was broadcast. If the transaction has zero confirmations, check its fee rate and available wallet options. If it has reached the receiving platform’s confirmation requirement, contact that platform’s deposit support with the TXID and deposit details.

An accelerator cannot override an exchange’s account-crediting policy. It also cannot change the destination of a transaction that is already confirmed.

What BitTools can help you check

For a valid pending on-chain Bitcoin payment, the BitTools accelerator can check the TXID and show available rebroadcast or processing routes. For an already confirmed transfer, its status check helps you identify when the remaining issue belongs with the receiving platform.

Keep deposit support messages factual: include the transaction hash, network, relevant address, confirmation count and time checked. Never provide a seed phrase or wallet password as proof of payment.
